It's Alive!!

Wa-hell, things are certainly looking up and here's why:

My aunt had shipped me a box of Olay vitamins on my mother's request (she couldn't find them any where in this state). Well, this box contains sets of vitamins, 4 pills a day, and one of those is B12. I started taking them on Monday, on Tuesday I woke up HAPPY! And ALIVE!

I couldn't believe it could work that quickly, but then I did some research on webmd.com and found out that it could. And the symptoms totally sound like me:
  • weakness
  • FATIGUE
  • lightheadedness
  • a pale appearance
  • nausea
  • decreased appetite
  • weight loss
  • diarrhea or constipation
  • numbness or tingling in the fingers and toes
  • DEPRESSION

So I have (and believe that I have had for many years) Vitamin B12 Deficiency Anemia along with regular Anemia, cause now I feel fantastic, NORMAL! Not ALWAYS tired, unable to do regular daily tasks, etc. I've woken up everyday this week feeling refreshed and have actually done somethings after work! Normally I'd be draggin' my ass from the minute I woke up until I fell asleep on the couch at like 5pm.

I'm totally excited to have discovered this and I'm so thankful to my aunt and mom, but I also get mad cause my mom is the best doctor I've had and she's not even a doctor! My mom's the one who researches things and gets me to try stuff like anti-depressants for the belly, acupuncture, peppermint pills, changing my diet, etc.

Why have I been messed up for so long without any of the members of my "team" figuring any of this crap out?! I had mono when I was a sophomore in high school and never felt "normal" again. I've had IBS since I was 4. And yes, I have a "team" of doctors, or at least that's what my parents like to say cause I've been to so many and have had a number of different tests done over the years. I will give them this though:

  1. I don't go to the doctors very often
  2. The test for B12 isn't very accurate

I did have my blood taken on Monday before the horrific colonoscopy, and everything came out fine, just like every other freakin' test I've ever had done, but it wasn't all fine and hasn't been for some time. There's something about my body that likes to trick all medical tests.

Anyhow, the point is that I am feeling SO much better, which is awesome. Phew. That was a tirade. It's over now, we will return to our regularly scheduled program. I still have other stuff to tell you people, but this is long enough, so you'll just have to wait.

Wow Jenny! I am so sorry you had to go through all that. I knew you had IBS, but the side effects as well. You do sound much better, and I hope that continues.

How is married life so far? We have not spoke to either of you in a long time, and we miss ya!

Awesome dude! Can't you just get tons of Vitamin B12 by eating a ton of Dunkin' Donuts and watching movies at my house?
